Also on Saturday, I returned to the Farmer's Market and invested in some asparagus. I used to get fresh asparagus for free, when my grandparents lived at their old house where it grew wild on the property. A bunch of people were selling it at the market. Somehow, because apparently I am new or something, I wound up paying $6 for a bunch of it. That's an entire $3 more than the stall directly beside the one I purchased from, and a whopping $6 more than I've ever really paid in my life for asparagus.
See? Stupid things.
But from stupid things come delicious results. The cupcakes worked out beautifully for my mom, and I'm using my absurdly pricy asparagus to make some parmesan asparagus for dinner.
Oh, and my posting has slowed down but I promise it won't all be veggies and side dishes. I've been reading the George R.R. Martin series and I can not stop reading. I've also been pretty much living at the gym, so the Boyfriend has taken over most of our dinners. I've just go to figure out my flow now that I'm home and unemployed and (ugh) broke. So far flow has been limited to eating pre-made food or left overs, reading, going to the gym and napping all the time.
Actually not a terrible schedule once you think about it.
On to the recipe!
